ToryTales - Bears Love New Year

This post is about the trial of new textures, I coloured in this image from Torytales using copic markers and was really interested to try a technique had seen on Facebook this week of using white gel pens to add texture.

The first thing i did to create this card was pick my papers.  The next thing was to start working on the texture, lots of pen flicking.

The third step was to try a new type of background (feeling very adventurous today :)) i used distress inks and prayed water to make it look like a watercolour background.  Im using express it blending paper so the paper did have a little difficulty absorbing the water.

The next step is putting it all together and adding the finishing touches, I sewed the paper together to last years christmas papers from stampin up, along with cherry cobbler card and ribbon and gumball green card.  The buttons and the tree are eBay specials and the stamp is a new one from stampin up this year.  The final step was adding some glossy accents to the bears noses for a little bit of shine.

Copics:
Bears E70, E71, E74, E77
Feet R81, R83
Presents and sack C7, R35, R46, R59

SCRAPPERS DELIGHT - PARIS CAFE

I love this image and decided that for this month I would try something a little different, so I have used prismacolour pencils for the first time.  I realise I have a lot to learn and pencils are very different to my usual copics but just love the vibrance they have given to this gorgeous image.  As soon as I saw the image I knew what she would look like and who is getting this card :)

kaiserkraft paper used, along with some stampin up stamps and card stock.  Flowers and corner embellishment are from eBay.
